		<description>Firstly make a backup of your changes as I'm not entirely sure this will work, 

I would suggest creating a new Branch. Then try and do an svn switch to this branch. It may or may not change your local modifications, I can't remember off the top of my head.

Then commit to the branch.

		<description>I'm a newbie in SVN. and now I have a problem.
I checkout the trunk and made my changes. now I see that it would have been much better if I had made a branch.
now, can I anyhow use my local copy to commit it as new branch (and not commiting it back to the trunk)?</description>
